What is a Sexual Health Physician?
I get asked this question quite a bit! Sexual health is a branch of medicine that incorporates a number of areas of health care, such as: gynaecology, endocrinology, dermatology, venereology, public health and psychiatry. Or put more simply – women’s health, hormones, skin problems, sexually transmitted infections, our health as a community and mental health concerns. And because I don’t perform operations or deliver babies like a gynaecologist, I have more time to talk to my patients and more time to listen.
